NWIM Ex-Comm Meeting

260 Regency Parkway Drive. DIRECTIONS: We are in the Regency Professional Plaza, Suite 200, 2nd floor. From the north, take Regency Parkway south.  You will pass Whole Foods, the Regency Shopping Center, Fleming's Steakhouse and the Enterprise Bank building.  Just south of the Enterprise Bank building is a driveway on the right which will take you directly into the parking lot.  From the south, take Pacific to Regency Parkway, then turn right on Regency Parkway and get in the left lane.  Go past the first stoplight and there is a left turn lane at the next intersection.  US Bank will be on your left.  Turn left onto Regency Parkway Drive and then immediately right and follow Regency Parkway Drive to the building.  (Note: some GPS maps have the building on the wrong side of Regency Parkway, so use these directions.) You should enter using the outside door on the north side of the building. If you come in the south side of the building just follow the hallway through the building until you get to the elevator/north staircase.  Office suite 200 is on the second floor. If you arrive late and the office suite door is locked, phone someone in Ex-comm to be let in.  For more information, contact Wes Shaw, 712-298-0109, Wes.shaw.us@member.mensa.org.

Saturday, April 27th, Lincoln, 6:00 pm
Dine Out Sig, Billy's Restaurant

1301 H Street, Lincoln, NE

Billy’s Restaurant has been open under the direction of the same chef for decades. The surroundings are as much an attraction as the food. The restaurant is in the elegant "Noble-Dawes House" located near the Nebraska State Capital Building. The house was built in 1887 and the bar is called the Chautauqua Bar. The dining rooms are named for William Jennings Bryan, Charles Dawes and George W. Norris and give a fascinating glimpse into a grand era in U.S. History. The multiple dining rooms also allow for seating of a group in a relatively private area.

The restaurant has a relatively small menu, but everything is cooked with attention to detail. Appetizers include crab cakes, mussels, coconut chicken satay skewers, and baked brie with apple and pecans priced from $9.00 to $13.00. The entrees, priced from $18.00 to $34.00, range from blackberry duck to filet mignon, veal piccata, salmon and scallops succotash. Other entrees include pork shanks, Ribeye steak, veal marsala, and rack of lamb. The menu says that it will work with vegetarians or vegans to design dishes based on their entrees and sides. Several appetizers are also vegetarian.

The restaurant’s desserts are a highlight. The desserts include chocolate mousse, triple chocolate layer cake, strawberry cheesecake and an amazing cherry-chocolate cheesecake. The restaurant also has a limited but interesting wine list and good coffee.

This restaurant is not open for Saturday lunch. Therefore, I have to confirm the number of attendees to the restaurant on Friday. SO, I need reservations by Friday, April 26, at 5:00 p.m. Call or text Diana Vogt at 402-981-4012 or email to fidgetydjv@gmail.com. PLEASE use this number and/or email, I may not receive your reservation if you use different contact information. To get there from Omaha, take the 9th Street (downtown) freeway exit which puts you on 9th Street. Turn left on P street (or O street) and then turn right on 13th. Drive south until you reach H street and you will see Billy’s on the left. It has its own parking lot adjacent to the restaurant. The restaurant is only about two blocks from the State capitol if anyone would like to go down early and tour the capitol.
